Why the exact temperature matters

“Keep it cold” isn’t specific enough to protect most temperature-sensitive cargo. Chilled transport (0 to +8°C) slows the biological and chemical processes that cause spoilage, without freezing the product’s structure. Frozen transport (−18°C and below) stops those processes almost entirely by keeping the product solid. The two require different vehicles because holding −20°C reliably in 45°C heat takes considerably more refrigeration capacity and insulation than holding +4°C. Carrying more than one temperature at once

Many real deliveries mix categories — a grocery order with both dairy and frozen meals, or a catering run with chilled ingredients and a few frozen items.
